BUILDING THE FOUNDATION

A PROGRAM THAT GROWS WITH YOUR CHILD.

Learning tennis is a gradual process. Young players begin by developing coordination, tracking the ball, controlling their racquet, and learning to move around the court. As skills progress, they work on more consistent strokes, better positioning, spin, and the decisions that make tennis an exciting and challenging game. At Redfield, each training group builds on this progression.

TENNIS TURTLES

For young children, tennis begins with curiosity, movement, and the excitement of learning something new. Tennis Turtles introduces the game through age-appropriate activities that make the first experience on court both positive and engaging. Players develop basic movement patterns, receiving and tracking skills, and the coordination needed to send the ball with growing control. The program uses red foam balls and 36-foot Red Court dimensions, helping young players experience the game in a format suited to their stage.

JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT

Junior Development builds on early movement and racquet skills. As children develop greater coordination and understanding, training places more emphasis on consistent technique and controlled ball striking. Players work on footwork, stroke fundamentals, and a reliable connection with the ball, with lessons introducing directional control, spin, and consistency — helping students understand not just how to hit a ball, but how to begin playing tennis.

  • Rally development and court awareness
Building Confidence for Competitive Play

COMPETITION PREP

Competition Prep is designed for developing players ready to connect technical skills with real tennis situations. Training focuses on consistency, direction, court positioning, stroke production, footwork, strategy, and tactical decision-making. Students learn to respond to different rally situations, recognize opportunities, and make purposeful decisions during point play. A major focus is building confidence applying skills in realistic match scenarios. Training uses standard yellow balls on full 78-foot courts.
